Based in Alberta, Canada, Richards Roots creates small-batch gourmet condiments, seasonings, and infused honey products inspired by Caribbean heritage, family traditions, and a love for great cooking. 🇨🇦🍯 Our story is one of evolution, entrepreneurship, and a commitment to creating products that turn everyday meals into something memorable. ✨

🍴 The Story Behind Richards Roots

My name is Shane Richards, and I'm the founder of Richards Roots. My journey in food began with a passion for creating bold flavours and sharing great food with others. That passion led me to start 4 Corners Wingstop, a food truck specializing in chicken wings, where flavour was at the heart of every experience. 🍗🚚

That journey helped shape the foundation of what Richards Roots has become today. The same creativity, dedication, and love for food that went into those early experiences continue to inspire the products we create. ❤️

Drawing on my Caribbean heritage and family traditions, I developed a collection of small-batch gourmet condiments, seasonings, and infused honeys designed to bring people together around the table. 🌴 From our signature Brown Sugar Jerk BBQ Sauce and Marinade to our handcrafted Whipped Honey, Honey Hot, Lemon Pepper Seasoning, and LZY All-Purpose Rub, every product reflects our belief that great food should be bold, meaningful, and made to share. 🍯🌶️

 A Shared Passion. A Growing Family.

In 2025, I met Dave at a farmers' market. Dave is a Red Seal-certified chef who spent many years in Vancouver developing his culinary skills and creating his own distinctive recipes and sauces. 👨🍳

Like me, Dave believes that great food goes beyond flavour. It's about family, quality, passion, and creating something people genuinely enjoy sharing. 

Dave developed his own signature sauces and transformed his recipes into consumer-packaged products, bringing his culinary experience directly to customers. When we met, it was clear that we shared the same values: a commitment to great products, a passion for food, and a desire to build something meaningful. 🤝

Since that first meeting, we have continued working together at farmers' markets, introducing customers to our products and building a partnership rooted in mutual respect, shared values, and a genuine love for what we do. 🛍️

Now, that partnership is becoming the next chapter in the Richards Roots story. 📖

By the end of 2026, Dave's Sweet and Sassy Sauces will join the Richards Roots brand and become available through the Richards Roots product catalogue. 🎉

This marks an exciting evolution for Richards Roots. What began with my own journey through 4 Corners Wingstop and grew into a family-inspired condiment business is now expanding to include another passionate food creator whose products share our commitment to quality and flavour. 🌱

Dave brings his own recipes, culinary expertise, and distinctive sauces to the table. Together, we are bringing two unique food journeys under one growing brand, giving customers more ways to discover bold flavours and enjoy great food at home. 🍽️
